My Journal- October - November 1995

Mon. Nov. 27th (or is it the 21st?)

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat
Pleased to put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha-penny will do
If you havent' got a ha-penny, then God bless you!

'Member that song? I like it and it sounds really good as a round! Go ahead, try it. Go on... get your roomate, or your little sibling, perhaps even a pet... do it in a round, it's very fun!

Guess what I did last weekend!? I went to Kentucky! Why you ask? To see family and Nick (my boyfriend). It was really fun, but the drive was kind of boring. Any long drive in a car by yourself is kind of boring, ya know? Louisville was fun though and I discovered this great new soda called "Big Red". Ya'll (haha) heard of it? It must only be made in certain parts of the US, because I've never seen it here in good ol' Wisconsin. It's delicious!

Oh, and it's a blizzard out there right now. It's thundering and lightening, too! Now THAT is weird! The wind is gusting to 45 mph! I have to venture out there and unbury my car somehow. I think honestly I'm stuck. I just may leave my car here and get a ride home with my roomate who has a truck. I guess everyone is getting stuck. It's tretcherous out there.

Ooh, one more thing... 52 Cards in a Deck... a lot of you got that one! Here's another: "13 S. of the A.F." I'm going to attempt to go home now.

Mon. Nov. 20th

Thanksgiving is upon us and I'd just like to take the time to tell you what I think about it... well, I mean, thanksgiving dinner. I think it is the best meal of the year! Why? Delicious turkey, incredible mouth-watering stuffing, delectable mashed potatoes, succulent corn, scrumptious cherry pie, piping hot rolls.... I mean YUM!! What meal of the year could possibly be better? Don't you agree?

Allright, different topic. 32 D F at which W F is 32 Degrees at which water freezes. Here's another: '52 C in a D'. Yah know it, I know!

Hey, guess what? I finally scanned in a picture of me in my Little Red Riding Hood costume from Halloween. Promise me you won't laugh too hard?? I look like a fool! I've got the geekiest smile on my face. Standing next to me in the Pirate costume is my very good friend Drew. Ahoy there matey! What big teeth you have!

Tues. Nov. 14th

Hey! Have any of you out there ever playes Mille Bornes? What a great game! Remember those speed limit and flat tire cards? I recently found a copy of the game and to the left is my favorite card (gee, I wonder why?). I've even played it recently and it's almost as fun as I remember! I found out what Mille Bornes means! "A Thousand Roadmarkers" - cool, eh? Oh, and I suppose there's still a few of you out there wondering what in the world "12 S of the Z" is. Answer: "12 signs of the Zodiac". Congrats to all those who guessed it right! Now, for a new one: "32 D F at which W F". It's easy! You can get it!

Thurs. Nov. 9th

Hi, I am making an entry to show all you out there what a fantastic artist I am. This is a picture I drew of a pig:
No, a 4 year old did NOT help me, I did it all by myself. Why did I draw this? Is there some reason to this chick's madness, you ask... Well, yes, my friend- Nick- gave me some kind of weird quiz using it. For example, depending on how big of ears I drew on it or how many legs I gave it or which direction I made it face told much about me... supposedly, and actually it seemed kind of true. Maybe if you're lucky, Nick will give YOU the quiz, but you'll have to visit his home page first. He is located on my
friends page. And he is pretty rediculous... just like his page says.

Oh, one more thing I have to say.... IT'S SNOWING!!! Can you believe it? It's actually accumulating on the ground! For those of you who have forgotten or never knew, I live in Southeast WI. So, it's really no big surprise anyway. That's all folks!

Mon. Nov 6th

Hey there! I'm making a new entry! I know you're all DYING to know what 21 D on a D is (no it's not 21 Dudes on a Dolphin). It's... 21 Dots on a Die!! Perhaps you were close! ;-)

Well, my weekend sure was a busy one! I moved! Yeeeehaaaa! And it was a success, so far it seems everything made it in one piece! Only thing though, is that our new apartment is SOOO staticy (is that a word-- you know, full of static electricity). I mean, we're talking major shocks and sparks here! My TV barely works anymore! Does anyone out there know what one can do to get rid of static electricity without going out and buying an expensive humidifier? We have two vaporizers running, but it doesn't seem to be helping! Just NUTS!

Well, I'd like to send a special thankyou to all those who helped my move a reality (and I'd like to thank the academy as well): Nicole, Ron, Kris, Shane, Cretia, Dave, Drew, Eric, Rob, and of course, Moi!! Yes, the ten of us really kicked some butt and got lots done in a very short time. I bought pizza, beer, chips and soda for my crew and it was worth it! Just wait till I have my official "apartment-warming party", all of you are invited!!!

Oh, and of course, I can't leave you without giving you a new puzzle: 12 S of the Z. I have faith in you!!! Take it easy...

Mon. Oct. 30th

OK, everyone wants to know what 9= R in SS is. The answer is... 9 Reindeer in Santa's Sleigh. Now that you're getting better at these, I'm gonna give you another. 21=D on a D. Good luck! Like these puzzles? Want to see more? Go visit
The Black Stump. Peter has a bunch more for you to agonize over. I'll try and add a new word puzzle every week here, so stay tuned. Perhaps you'd even like to fill out my new form atop of here, that way you will be notified everytime I add something to this page.

So, my weekend was pretty great! Hope yours was, too. Friday night I spent packing (joy... I'm moving on Sat.- wanna help?) Saturday afternoon I spent looking for bride's maids dresses. NO, I am NOT getting married, my best friend is. We found a really beautiful green velvet dress. I hope we end up choosing that one. Sat. night a bunch of my friends and I went out to Sneakers to watch the costume contest and to dance. There were some terrific costumes there! It's so much fun to look at them all. I was the only Little Red Riding Hood! JOY! Then I got to do something very incredible! Sit in a luxurious hot tub-- OUTSIDE!! :-D It was wonderful! Sunday I... hmmm.. packed and went to my friend's (Debbie) party. So, all in all, besides the packing stuff, it was a really terrific weekend!

Btw, have you noticed packing always takes longer than you think? I mean, you are cleaning and throwing out stuff, then you come upon these old memories and all, and you start reading old journals, looking at old pictures, calling old friends, eating old food you found behind your dresser.... (hehe-- just kidding!), but you know what I mean, it becomes a huge walk down memory lane. Well, that's been my experience anyway. Bye Bye.

Friday Oct. 27th

Wow! I'm getting pretty regular at this, aren't I? THREE times in one week?? Wonder how long that's gonna last?! Oh well, guess what? Last night I went to Goodwill and got myself a really cool Halloween Costume! I'm going to be Little Red Riding Hood! I'm going to wear this really cool old time looking skirt and blouse I found for like 99 cents each. I also have a red apron, red cape, white stalkings, and a lacey basket! I'm set! What are you all out there going as? I know one of my friends is thinking of going as a WILD AND CRAZY GUY from SNL! Isn't that great?! That would be very much fun, but I don't think I can pull it off. Does anyone out there realize what a great place Goodwill is? I mean, I'm not poor or anything, but people give away so many perfectly good clothes/furniture items/etc. I like to browse around there once in awhile, it's like going through someone's closet you know? Heheheheheh! Well, that's it for today! I hope everyone reading this has a completely wonderful Halloween weekend; and DON'T forget to turn your clock back at 2:00 am Sunday morning... but you know what that means, right? A WHOLE EXTRA HOUR OF PARTYING!

Wednesday Oct. 25th

Hi there! Guess what? My Haunted Mountain is done! It's really cool! Hope ya like it! Let's see... what else is new? Well, my trip to Chicago to go to a Rave is cancelled this weekend (for those of you who knew I was going); but that's OK, I'm going to try again in Nov. Instead, I think I'll go to a haunted house and then out to the clubs in contest. Does anyone know any really scary haunted houses in the Milwaukee area?
Email me if you do! I've still go to decide what the heck I'm going to be for halloween. Can't think of anything original at all. So, I just might be Little Red Riding Hood, or perhaps Little Bo Peep. Watched Forrest Gump last night for the second time in my life. I like it! And I totally LOVE Lieutenant Dan! Gary Senice (sp?) is pretty darn hot, even with no legs! :-D Well, that'll be it for my entry tod ay. Take care all!

Monday Oct. 23rd

All right, I am FINALLY writing here again. Sorry. BTW, thanks to all of you who tried to help with the 5= L in a L thingy. Friday the 13th we finally figured it out. 5 lines in a limerick. The new one for this week is 9 R in SS. I made this one up.

Lets see... last Friday I went to go see The Tie That Binds. It was pretty bad. Saturday I went to a high school friend's wedding in Fort Atkinson. It was fun! We left the reception at 1:00 am or so and headed for UW-Whitewater. It was homecoming weekend there. I went there my Freshman year, and my brother goes there, so I figured I'd pay him a visit. On the way to Whitewater, I came up to this car who was driving 40 in a 55. It was a cop, I was about to pass, when I noticed his right turn blinker turn on. So I waited for him to pull over to the shoulder, and I passed him. Sure enough, he pulls back onto the road, follows me for 5 seconds, then turns his lights on. 'Oh Come ON!', I think. 'What can he possibly be pulling me over for?' And how nice of him it was for him to ask me that very question.

"Do you know why I've pulled you over?"

"No." ('I was hoping you'd be able to answer that one for me')

"Well, I was wondering why you were tailgating me." The cop haughtily asked.

"I wasn't tailgating you."

"Sure you were. Don't you know the 2 second rule?"

"What? You mean after 2 seconds of listening to you, people want to run away?" (OK, so I didn't really say that. Instead I said, "No, I don't.")

"You're supposed to be 2 seconds away... blah blah blah blah blah."

"Oh, yes officer, you are right! How did you ever get to be so smart?" (All right, so I didn't say that either, instead I just nodded and acted like he was completely wise and knowledgable.)

"License please." He asked. I cooperated, and he went back to his car. Ever wonder what the hell they do in there? I mean, they take your license and then call up and order a pizza or what? Perhaps they call their grandmother in Austria and catch up on things? Well, I'm not really sure, but they take their time; after all, they have nothing else to do but wait for someone to one tiny thing wrong so they can have their fun. (Sorry to those of my friends who are cops-- of course I don't mean you!) :-D

Well, needless to say, he returned and gave me my license back and told me to have a nice night and to remember the two second rule. I graciously thanked him. So pretty much, this has a happy ending because I did not get a ticket and I learned the two second rule. I even found my brother! Cool eh? Till next time, my friends!

Tuesday Oct. 9th

Hmmm... Well, I'm adding this page to my web site. That's new. Also, I have added a greeting that will be changed infrequently to my "Welcome" text at the top of my home page. I ate Mac 'n' Chs for lunch- really healthy, eh? And, I'm thinking about going to Madison this weekend... Oh, WAIT, I actually have something to say! See, I'm doing these quiz things that I really love to do, but I have become stumped! Perhaps you can help! You can be my HERO!! Here's how it goes. If I say: 365= D in a Y; what would you say? Yes, 365 Days in a Year. What if I say: 9 P in the S.S.? Yes, that's 9 planets in the Solar System. BUT, what if I say 5=L in a L? AHHH! I can't get it! Please help me now! 5 licks in a lollypop? 5 loves in a lifetime? 5 leeches in a lake? 5 looneys in a looneybin? HELP before I go to the looneybin! Then they'll have to change it to 6=L in a L.
Email me with your answer!

THAT'S ALL FOLKS! You can't go back any further!
