The Moon? No, it's Keflavik, the location of the International airport in Iceland. It does look just like the moon, though. Well, this part of Iceland, anyway. It's very rocky, flat and barren. Did you know only 500,000 people live in Iceland? That's cuz the whole interior of the island is uninhabitable. All the cities are on the coast. Anyway, this was our second stop on our trip to Norway. The first stop was the Minneapolis airport, but that wasn't much to speak of, so no photos were taken. We (Stacey and I) landed in Keflavik around 7:30 am Iclandic time on 5/29/98. We left Dallas at 3:45 pm the previous day. Weird huh? Neither Stacey or I got any sleep on the flight, so already, we're exhausted. Icelandair is a pretty nice airline, though. They even showed Mad City as their inflight movie. Cool. The Keflavik airport is pretty small. We had about an hour layover there. There's only one women's bathroom in the entire airport. We waited in line for a painfully long time. This photo was taken through the airplane window as we're about to take off from Iceland to Oslo. Hallelujah! NORWAY HERE WE COME! |
