I needed a vacation... a beach! But I also wanted to visit my friend Stacey in Maryland and see my folks. I also wanted Chris (my now ex-boyfriend) to meet my parents. Hmmm... what to do, what to do? How bout a vacation to Ocean City, MD which is a beach my parents were interested in visiting, and a beach that's only two hours away from where Stacey lives?! PERFECT! Chris and I caught a flight up to Baltimore, MD on August 3rd and my parents left their home in Wexford, PA and headed towards the airport and met our flight. We drove the remaining 3 hours together to Ocean City in my parents mini-van.

We decided to stay at the Sheraton Fontainbleau in Ocean City, Maryland because they were the only hotel in the MD/DE vicinity with a balcony and Ocean View that accepted dogs in the summertime. Coincidentally, it was a very nice hotel! We checked in Tuesday evening.

Stacey came to join us Wed. night and met my parents for the first time. Stacey didn't want me taking her picture.

Conan, Mom and moi.

Me and pops.

Dad, trying not to blink.

What? Stacey actually let someone take a photo that included her?

Mom, me and Dad. Too bad Jon couldn't make it.

Mommy.

This is the view from the balcony.

This is the view looking the opposite way, you can see the bay.

The guy on the left was a man working for the hotel that we saw outside everyday. He was in charge of renting out lounge chairs and boogie boards and such. The reason I took his picture was because he was the leatheriest, tannest person I had ever seen. This man was one who didn't believe in sunscreen. He proudly worked, without a shirt, baring his cancerous skin to us. Ugh. I know you can't see him well from here, but please... do not do this to yourself.

Pretty picture of a palm tree.

Flowers grow in the sand? Wow!

I got a lifeguard to take this photo of Chris and I Friday morning before we were to check out of the hotel.

Lordy, it's HOT out here!

Ow! My eyes! I can't see!

Katie, I still can't see...

After checking out of the hotel, and bidding farewell to my parents, Stacey, Chris and I headed for Delaware to meet my good friend and ex-boss Darrell. Along the way, I managed to convince them to stop and get a bite to eat at the Dough Roller Restaurant! FUN!

Once we made it to Bear, DE, we met Darrell and his wife Kelly at the Marina where they keep their boat. Here is Captain Darrell as he proudly takes his boat out to the bay.

Here is Kelly, a wonderful, fun, upbeat woman who you immediately feel comfortable with.

Plenty of beautiful bridges and scenery are to be had as we cruise along.

We stopped after a while at the Sassafrass inlet at a sandy beach for a swim.

Stacey was brave enough to try tubing.

Chris was even braver and wanted to try going very fast! He managed to hang on for quite a while!

This is the restaurant we stopped at to eat dinner (the Grainary). Nothing like pulling your boat up alongside a dock and eating great food. My kind of lifestyle!
