What I enjoy reading...
Reading is one of my favorite past times, unfortunately it's hard to find time to do it. I spend most of my time now reading Fitness Magazines and Fitness books. I have a subscription to Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers and Muscle Media. For fitness books I recommend Natural Hormonal Enhancement, Body For Life, The Zone, and The Real Vitamin and Mineral Book : Using Supplements for Optimum Health.
As far as novels go, my favorite genres are what you'd consider "horror"/"science fiction"/and "fantasy". I'm also really getting into those Biomedical Thrillers... they're fascinating!
- HORROR
- Dean R. Koontz- My all time favorite author! He's incredible! If you like strange plot twists, and being incredibly scared and awed and thrilled all at the same time, try one of his books. You'll become addicted to this incredible guy! Must-reads: The Bad Place, Cold Fire, Dark Rivers Of The Heart, Darkfall, Demon Seed, The Door To December, Dragon Tears, The Eyes of Darkness, The Face Of Fear, Fear Nothing, The Funhouse, Hideaway, The House of Thunder, Icebound, Intensity, The Key To Midnight, Lightning, The Mask, Midnight, Mr. Murder, Night Chills, Phantoms, The Servants of Twilight, Shadowfires, Shattered, Sole Survivor, Strange Highways, Strangers, TickTock, Twilight Eyes, The Vision, The Voice of the Night, Watchers, Whispers, Winter Moon.
- John Saul- Another incredible writer in this genre. Some of his works: Black Lightning, The Blackstone Chronicles, Brainchild, Comes the Blind Fury, Creature, Cry For The Strangers, Darkness, The God Project, Guardian, Hellfire, The Homing, Nathaniel, The Presence, Punish the Sinners, Second Child, Shadows, Sleepwalk, Suffer The Children, The Unloved, The Unwanted, When The Wind Blows.
- SCIENCE FICTION
- Michael Crichton- Have you read Sphere? Incredible! Here are some other spectacular works you probably recognize (as many have been made into Movies): The 13th Warrior, Airframe, The Andromeda Strain, A Case of Need, Congo, Disclosure, Five Patients: The Hospital Explained, The Great Train Robbery, Jurrasic Park, The Lost World, Rising Sun, The Terminal Man, Travels.
- Clive Cussler- This is a man obsessed with writing about Dirk Pitt (hero) and his adventures with submarines, ships, diving, and the government, but all I have to say is CHEERS because they're always exciting thrillers. You may recognize him as writing Cyclops, Deep Six, Dirk Pitt Revealed, Dragon, Flood Tide, Iceberg, Inca Gold, The Mediterranean Caper, Night Probe!, Pacific Vortex, Raise The Titanic, Sahara, Shock Wave, Treasure, Vixen 03.
- Robin Cook- Biomedical Thrillers! AH! I LOVE them! Can't get enough. If you are fascinated with this genre, you must be sure to read these:
The Year of the Intern, Coma, Sphinx, Brain, Godplayer, Mindbend, Outbreak, Mortal Fear, Mutation, Harmful Intent, Vital Signs, Blindsight, Fatal Cure, Acceptable Risk, Contagion, Terminal, Invasion, Chromosome 6, Toxin, Vector.
- FANTASY
- Orson Scott Card- Like series? You should definately start into "The Tales of Alvin Maker". Start off with "Seventh Son", and you're sure to be hooked from there. Be sure to also read the rest in the series: Red Prophet (Tales of Alvin Maker, No 2), Prentice Alvin (Tales of Alvin Maker, No 3), Alvin Journeyman (Tales of Alvin Maker, 4.), Heartfire : The Tales of Alvin Maker V (Tales of Alvin Maker, 5.). He also has other great books such as: The Call of Earth, Children of the Mind, The Ships of Earth (Homecoming Saga Series), The Memory of Earth (Homecoming, Vol 1), Earthfall (The Homecoming, Vol 4), Earthborn (Homecoming, V. 5.), Ender's Game, Homebody, Lost Boys, Lovelock (The Mayflower Trilogy, Book 1), Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus, Saints, Songmaster, Speaker for the Dead, Treasure Box, The Worthing Saga, Xenocide.
- Stephen R. Donaldson- Another terrific series. Tales of Thomas Covanent, The Unbeliever. A trilogy: Lord Foul's Bane (Book 1), The Illearth War (Book 2), The Power That Preserves (Book 3). Riveting throughout-- gets you thinking big time. READ IT! There was also a Second Chronicles of Thomas Covanent written: Wounded Land (Book 1), One Tree (Book 2), White Gold Wielder (Book 3). Also check out The Gap Series: The Gap into Conflict : The Real Story, The Gap into Vision : Forbidden Knowledge, A Dark and Hungry God Arises : The Gap into Power, Chaos and Order : The Gap into Madness, This Day All Gods Die : The Gap into Ruin, and Mordant's Need: Mirror of Her Dreams, A Man Rides Through.
- J.R.R. Tolkien- Who doesn't think the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy isn't one of the most awesome series out there? I'm sure you've atleast read "The Hobbit". If it's been awhile (perhaps you had to read it for an English class), pick it up and read it again. It's even better the second, third, fourth time around. Tolkien's Primary works include: The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King.
Well, I could go on and on about my favorite books and authors, but you're in luck, I won't. Instead, I suggest you use the below box to find your own favorites:
